Cons
– Same display brightness as Series 10
– Limited AI features
Apple says the Series 11 has 24 hours of battery life, which is better than before.
It also supports 5G, which is a big improvement for those who use their watch without a phone. The new hypertension alerts could help people monitor their health, but I was surprised to learn they aren’t unique to the Series 11.
Much of what makes the Series 11 our top smartwatch choice is the watchOS 26 software.
– 24-hour battery life: The Series 11 is the longest–lasting Apple Watch in the flagship line (not the Ultra model).
– Hypertension alerts: The watch can alert users to possible high blood pressure using an algorithm and heart rate sensor.
This feature is also available on the Series 9, Ultra 2, and newer models.
– Daily sleep score: Apple now gives users a score out of 100 for their sleep.
The score considers how long you sleep, how consistent your bedtime is, and how much you get interrupted.
– 5G connectivity: The Series 11 now supports 5G, which improves cellular range and uses less battery.
– New watch faces: watchOS 26 adds two new faces—Flow and Exactograph.
Flow uses fluid colors with Liquid Glass numerals, while Exactograph splits time into hours, minutes, and seconds.
– Scratch–resistant display: The screen is twice as scratch–resistant, which helps protect it from everyday wear and tear.
The Apple Watch Series 11 is available in four aluminum colors: Jet Black, Rose Gold, Silver, and a new Space Grey.
You can also get more premium options with Slate, Gold, or Natural titanium cases.
If you’re rough on your watch, you’ll be happy to know the display is more protected.
However, the brightness is still 2,000 nits, which isn’t as bright as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 or Google Pixel Watch 4.For that kind of brightness, you’d need the Apple Watch Ultra 3.I noticed the difference during outdoor activities like golf.
The Apple Watch Series 11 isn’t a blood pressure monitor.
Instead, it can warn you about possible hypertension using data and the heart rate sensor.
Apple has also added a Sleep Score feature to the Series 11.
This is a numerical score out of 100 based on how long you sleep, how consistent your bedtime is, and how often you’re interrupted. While I’ve gotten high scores, I haven’t used this feature much lately. It seems to take some time to adjust to your sleep patterns.
Two new watch faces are coming with watchOS 26.
Flow uses fluid colors with Liquid Glass numerals, and Exactograph splits time into separate sections for precise time–keeping.
For the last ten years, every flagship Apple Watch had a 18-hour battery life.
The Series 11 changes that, offering a full 24 hours with the always-on display. In low–power mode, it last up to 38 hours, which is just two hours more than the Series 10.
Even though the Series 11 doesn’t completely change the Apple Watch, it’s a meaningful upgrade.
The 24-hour battery life is a big win, and the 5G and increased scratch resistance add to the watch’s usefulness. The new blood pressure alerts and sleep score features extend Apple’s health focus, even though they’re not unique to the Series 11.In fact, that makes them even more valuable additions.
